Keith (Commodore) and I (Secretary) have had a number of personal family issues taking up a large amount of our time during our current term on the committee and this has impacted on the time we have had to devote to the yacht club. We will have even less time available for the rest of the year, again due to family commitments.

Unfortunately, at the moment, we will not be able to organise the Commodore's Beach Ball and have taken the decision to cancel it at this stage. We did look at alternate dates later in the year, however this proved to be quite difficult with so many conflicting local activities happening. With a few fundraising events already locked into our calendar for the rest of the year, we also felt it would be better to leave this decision for the incoming committee

As per the KYC Constitution, all committee members will stand down at the AGM and all positions will be declared open. After 3 years, we will not be seeking re-election at the AGM on Saturday 21 July.

Please everyone have a think about joining the committee and having an input into your club. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time on the committee and will still be actively involved in the club, fully supporting any new committee members and decisions and helping out where we can. Being fairly new to the islands, and Queensland, when we joined the committee we found it a great way to meet 'the locals' and have made some fantastic friends through the club.
